The total Crime Volume during the period 01 July to 30 June 2008 is 251, which is lower by 172 incidents from the 423 incidents recorded during the same period of CY 2006-2007. Of the total registered crime volume, 95 were Index Crimes and 156 were Non-Index Crimes.

The Index Crime of 146 is lower by 51 incidents as compared to 01 July 2007 to 30 June 2008 index crimes of 95. Crimes against person, particularly physical injuries have the highest frequency of occurrence followed by rape and murder.


Non-Index Crime

The decreased in Crime Volume is due to the series of crime prevention against all forms of criminality through maximum police presence along the crime prone areas. Non-Index Crimes from 01 July 2007 to 30 June 2008 is 156 reflecting an decrease of 121 incidents from the 277 Non-Index Crimes registered for the period of 01 July 2006 to 30 May 2007.
