A very active participation with other agencies concerning WCPD had been done thru seminars and dialogues. Likewise, a continuous seminar re Children Laws is being conducted by DSWD with the active participation of the PNP and Barangay volunteers to oversee their activities in their respective barangays.
The DCPS had maintained a Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) with eight (8) assigned personnel, one (1) PCO and seven (7) skilled investigators who handle cases against women and children.
To strengthen the campaign against all forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination and to promote gender sensitivity and awareness, four(4) WCCD investigators were detailed to PCPs who are responsible WCCD concerns like investigation of referred cases, filing of case in court and to mediate between parties involved in referred cases. Aside from investigation on referred cases, WCCD personnel are also involved in the following:
- Implementation of Anti-Flesh Trade
- Implementation of RA 9208 (Anti-Trafficking)
- Anti-Prostitution
- Vagrancy Law
